Ashwapet

Ashwapet is the UK’s leading pet Ashwagandha supplier. Award-winning Ashwapet was developed by a Clinical Animal Behaviourist and the product is manufactured to the highest standards in a UFAS (universal feed assurance scheme – 6029) accredited facility in Wymondham, Norfolk UK. Not all Ashwagandha supplements are created equal and when it comes to choosing the best Ashwagandha, KSM-66 really is the gold standard. It is derived using a unique extraction process which harnesses a full spectrum extract from just the ashwagandha root, not the leaves.

What makes Ashwapet special is its unique palatability. Traditionally, the earthy taste of Ashwagandha has deterred some pets from benefitting from its wonderful properties, but our powdered formula is blended with Brewers' Yeast to increase the health benefits and make it attractive to some of the fussiest canine and feline eaters out there.

Available in convenient capsules, Ashwapet is formulated without compromise, and is easy to store and dose. Snap a capsule and sprinkle the powder onto your pet's food. It's that easy.

As an adaptogen, Ashwagandha will help to regulate your pet's nervous system due to its calming properties. It can help with:

  • Separation anxiety

  • Social anxiety

  • Overstimulation

  • Hyperactivity

  • Fear of loud noises

  • Fear of cars

  • Fear of visiting the vets

  • General nervousness

Ashwaganda can also help to balance your pet's hormones and lower their cortisol levels - which may support physical and mental well-being. It can also help maintain normal nervous system function, boost immune function, support normal cardiovascular function, promote normal hormone levels, support a normal metabolic rate and, act as a diuretic and balance body fluids.

You can read about a relevant controlled trial here: Efficacy and safety of standardized Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract on reducing stress and anxiety in domestic dogs: A randomized controlled trial - ScienceDirect.

Ashwagandha is non-toxic and is safe for use, although we recommend you always consult your vet regarding any kind of nutritional product given to your pet - and it should not be administered to pregnant animals.

Ashwapet also contains Brewers' Yeast, which is a species of budding yeast that has been used to make fermented beverages and foods for thousands of years. It is rich in B vitamins and protein. The dried, inactive form of Brewers' Yeast can be used as a nutritional supplement. Brewers' Yeast is a good source of natural protein, dietary fibre, B-complex vitamins, selenium and potassium. The B complex vitamins in Brewers' Yeast include B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid) and H or B7 (biotin).
